Grief’s Playlist – Updated

So many good song suggestions! Thank you! I’ve put a number of them together so you could actually hear the playlist I’ve been listening to. It’s not quite the one on my iPod, but it’s close. Here’s to a peaceful Sunday.

Listen to my playlist here.

  1. I just subscribed. 😉

  2. Hey Amy… I love your blog. My heart breaks for you all. I found music so helpful when Mel passed away. Here are some more songs you can check out if you want, your playlist is already awesome. The first song was played for one of Amanda’s friends who just passed, she was also too young to leave us.
*If I Die Young – Christina Perri or The Band Perry
    *Answer – Sarah McLaughlin
    *Without You – Dixie Chicks

I’m thinking of you, if you need anything just call.

Listening to the playlist. Thanks for sharing. I saw on Twitter that someone said you didn’t pray hard enough for your son to be saved. I just want to let you know that is not of God. I am not here to judge and neither are they. They don’t know why God let this happen, nobody does. For them to say this gives Chrisitianity a bad name. We will never know “why”. That is something I wrestle with alot. I want to tread lightly, I am not here to shove anything down your throat. I am here to tell you of God’s love not punishment, even though right now it may feel like you are being punished. I don’t have an answer for why, and it crushes my very being to see such a tragedy but my hope is in the Lord. Hope your day is peaceful and restful for you and your family. Praying for ya.

This is an awesome song that kinda sums up what I was talking about. Sorry I keep bugging you.

  5. “Fly Away” by Poe.

I know it may seem morbid, but I have wanted this played at my service since the first time I heard it. It really seems to be the perfect song.

Sadly I can’t listen to your chosen tracks (IT won’t let me) but recognise and love some of the titles. Music is a wonderful consolation and I’m glad it is helping you.

  7. I’m so sorry for your loss. Your son fought so bravely. He is a very adorable little guy and is very lucky to such a strong and loving mother. Here are some songs that I have been listening to since our daughter died in October.

    “Held” Natalie Grant
    “Your Hands” J.J. Heller
“You are my Sunshine” Victor Johson
    “Just a Dream” Carrie Underwood
    “I Will Carry You” Selah
    “Heavenly Day” Patty Griffin
    “Fix You” Coldplay
“Who You’d Be Today” Kenny Chesney
    “Godspeed” Dixie Chicks
    “Run” Snow Patrol
    “Broken” Lifehouse

There is a song my mom dedicated to me when I was younger & I never really listened till after she passed. Now it has plenty of meaning as I have 5 children of my own.
Its called If I Could by Regina Belle
